Dr. Samuel Osei is a Research Scientist, EMF expert, and Head of the Non-Ionizing Radiation Unit at the Radiation Protection Institute (RPI) of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Cape Coast and an MPhil in Radiation Protection from the University of Ghana.
His research focuses on occupational exposure and various parameters related to radiofrequency radiation in the vicinity of GSM and television base stations in Ghana.
Dr. Osei is a member of the Technical Industry Working Group of the National Communications Authority (NCA) and serves as a principal representative on the Telecommunications Infrastructure and Network Systems Subcommittee of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA). He was a member of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFRIRPA06 Congress held in Accra in 2022 and currently serves as the Organising Secretary of the Ghana Association for Radiation Protection (GARP).
He regularly facilitates and teaches at training events in radiation protection and safety and is passionate about public education and community engagement. Dr. Osei is committed to making science accessible by communicating complex topics in simple, relatable language to the public.
